Hello! My name is Ria Patel, and I’m a third-year student at UC Davis pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. I’m so excited to help guide students on their pre-PA journeys! My first step in finding my place in the healthcare field was to explore all my options and learn as much as possible. I hope my fellow LHIH mentors and I can be valuable resources for you as you discover your own path!

I’ve had a passion for biology and medicine since childhood, but I only realized that pre-PA was the right fit for me just before starting college. By researching the various professions, I found that I was particularly drawn to the flexibility of specialties and the great balance between hands-on patient care and diagnostic planning that being a PA offers. After graduating, I plan to gain healthcare experience as a certified Medical Assistant before applying to PA school. Through research and mentorship, I’m confident you can also find the perfect path and plan for yourself.
