Pre-Med / Research Mentor

Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior, minor in Global Disease Biology B.S. | UC Davis (Senior)

Hi everyone! My name is Sadia Chowdhury, and I am currently a fourth-year NPB student at UC Davis. Fun fact, I grew up in Davis and graduated from Davis Senior High School before coming to UCD.

As a pre-med and research mentor, my mission is to support and guide high school students on their pre-health journey. Through my own experiences in the medical field, volunteering, and research, I understand the challenges and uncertainties that come with pursuing a career in medicine. Having a mentor during this time would have prevented the overwhelming stress of trying to figure everything out by myself, and therefore, I want to advise others on how to navigate this complex path with confidence and clarity. My goal is to ease the stress of this journey by sharing my knowledge and providing a supportive environment.

Through this organization, I aim to offer students the direction and resources I wish I had during my own journey. I want to help them avoid the self-doubt and unnecessary comparison that accompanies this path. I hope to foster a collaborative community that can inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals and empower them to pursue their dreams.

My own experiences with medical professionals and the research field have greatly shaped who I want to be and the career I want to pursue. I plan to advocate for a better quality of life through early intervention and long-term care for patients. I look forward to continuing this work in medical school and am thrilled to share my journey with you all.

Welcome to our community, I am eager to help you all succeed!!
